Welcome to MIS - SECONDARY
Secondary students find they have huge flexibility to pursue passions and interests that relate to their present and future selves and worlds. They engage in internships, extended projects, lead clubs, create portfolios, service learning, and a host of other experiential activities that provide a meaningful advantage when applying to further and higher education anywhere in the world.
Don’t be surprised to see our students:
climbing a mountain to film a production of Romeo and Juliet; interning for a term in a business to learn and explore their future world of work; organising and hosting a Lombok wide Model United Nations conference; presenting their business ideas to local Dragon Den judges; competing in Bahasa Indonesian competitions; running a local arts and craft market; hosting sporting competitions; learning circus skills; teaching the scientific method to younger students and presenting their own science experiments; painting beautiful murals; learning the discipline and skills of Mai Tai or boxing, surfing amazing waves, camping and hiking while doing field studies; snorkeling for reef preservation activities on the Gili Islands; learning to dive; and of course, learning the specific skills, including time management, to successfully submit high quality reports, individual or group projects, essays, and exams….

CREATIVITY, ACTION, SERVICE
Enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience. It provides opportunities for self-determination and collaboration with others, fostering a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work.
Students at MIS are set high academic standards, complemented by opportunities to blossom into community actors, experience entrepreneurial planning, and engage in a host of clubs from skateboarding, guitar club to circus training.

Subjects: English, Maths, Science, HASS (History and Social Studies), Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, Art, Sport, Music, Wellbeing, CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) and Extended Project are core requirements for their personal portfolio.
Age 15 - 16
GRADE 9 - 10
Selection of International Cambridge (IGSE) subjects and/or School subjects based on the Australian Curriculum
Subjects: (may change according interest and subject availability): English, Literature, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Bahasa Indonesia, Travel and Tourism, Art, Sport, Spanish, Wellbeing, and core Indonesian subjects for Indonesian students. CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service) and Extended Project are core requirements for their personal portfolio.
Age 16 - 17
GRADE 11 - 12
Selection of International Cambridge (A & AS) online subjects and/or School subjects based on the Australian Curriculum with the support of a learning coach and tutors where available
Subjects: (may change according to interest and subject availability) English, Literature, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Bahasa Indonesia as an additional language, Spanish as an additional language, Art, Computer Science, and core Indonesian subjects for Indonesian students. CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service) and Extended Project are core requirements for their personal portfolio.

Service Learning is an innovative approach to teaching and learning that addresses authentic need through active engagement in our local and global communities.
We have a supportive wellbeing program based on the Growth Mindset and Restorative practices, to develop positive social emotional thinking, effective conflict resolution and respectful relationships.
Curriculum units developed around global issues. Student centred, inquiry based learning to develop critical thinking and 21st century skills. Exploration of our local community
and culture as well as cultures from around the world.
